The girls begin to bond and Rebecca learns that Sara had an older sister, Emily, who died when Sara was nine, and an ex-boyfriend, Jason Matt Lanterwho keeps calling her in attempts to reconcile.

During her stay, Sara overhears a conversation between Rebecca and her father Tomas Aranahinting Rebecca has had trouble making friends in the past. Rebecca's mother Frances Fisher mentions that Rebecca is supposed to be taking medication.

She and Stephen later find a bottle of Zyprexa pills, used to treat schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. The bottle is full, implying that Rebecca has not been taking the pills. Sara decides to move in with Irene. Irene goes to a club where she sees Rebecca. They kiss passionately in the bathroom, and Irene takes Rebecca back to her place.

The following morning, Sara goes to Irene's apartment, but she is not there. Rebecca gets Sara's sister's name tattooed in the same place on her breast as Sara, saying that Sara can now think of Rebecca as her sister. Sara realizes that Rebecca is obsessed with her and packs all her things, except her sister's necklace, which she cannot find the necklace having been stolen by Rebecca. Jason arrives at Sara's dorm and slips a note under her door, saying that he wants to see her.

ROOM tells the extraordinary story of Jack, a spirited 5-year-old who is looked after by his loving and devoted mother.

Like any good mother, Ma dedicates herself to keeping Jack happy and safe, nurturing him with warmth and love and doing typical things like playing games and telling stories. Their life, however, is anything but typical--they are trapped--confined to a byfoot space that Ma has euphemistically named Room.

Ma has created a whole universe for Jack within Room, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that, even in this treacherous environment, Jack is able to live a complete and fulfilling life. But as Jack's curiosity about their situation grows, and Ma's resilience reaches its breaking point, they enact a risky plan to escape, ultimately bringing them face-to-face with what may turn out to be the scariest thing yet: the real world. Written by A Room, based on the book by Emma Donoghue, starts on young Jack's 5th birthday.

He gets a birthday cake from his mother but no candles ; a visit from his father; and a gift, albeit belatedly. This would all be perfectly normal except that all of this takes place within 'Room' - a confined space with only a single skylight for daylight and no means of escape. For the mother, Joy, was abducted as a teen and locked away for sex in the style of the dreadful real-life examples such as that perpetrated by Josef Fritzl in Austria.

Jack is the presumably unintended result: a boy with no perception of the real world beyond his four single-sided walls and with the staunchly-held view that the things he sees on a flickering TV screen are in 'TV land' and unreal. Will Jack and Joy survive and ever see freedom again? And that's where I'll leave this synopsis, since if you've been lucky enough to avoid the trailer there is a tense cat-and-mouse story to unfurl here.

This is an absorbing, although slow-moving, film that builds to some truly nail-biting moments. The screenwriter also Donoghue and director Irishman Lenny "Frank" Abrahamson are to be commended in keeping the story and drama really well-grounded and un-saccharined.

Old Nick Sean Bridgersthe 'evil kidnapper', is not painted as some predictable monster: he is even portrayed to be kind and caring at some warped level. And there is no gratuitous sex: we are in effect seven years into the story and the abnormal is now completely normalised.Room is a independent drama film directed by Lenny Abrahamson and written by Emma Donoghuebased on her novel of the same name. It stars Brie Larson as a woman who has been held captive for seven years and whose 5-year-old son Jacob Tremblay was born in captivity.

The players discover how to unlock an escape passage and climb out before the room is filled with fire. Next, they find themselves in a winter cabin, where Ben deduces how to open the door.

They step out into an icy room where the temperature is dropping. They eventually find the key, but Danny falls through the ice and drowns. Some players notice reminders of traumatic events in their past: A song Ben heard before almost dying in a car crash and a red coat Jason wore when he escaped a shipwreck.

The remaining five players enter an upside-down billiards bar, where parts of the floor periodically fall into a deep shaft below. They realize the room contains a giant sliding puzzleand a missing 8 ball is the key.

Amanda retrieves the ball and throws it to Jason before plummeting to her death. The next room is a hospital ward with six beds, each representing a player. It is revealed that all of the six players were each sole survivors of various disasters: Mike escaped a mine cave-in, Zoey survived a plane crash, Danny survived when his family died of carbon monoxide poisoning, Amanda survived an IED blast, Jason survived a shipwreck in frigid weather, and Ben survived a car accident where his friends died.

Zoey realizes that the purpose of the game is to determine which player is the luckiest of all. Jason discovers that the room is about to be filled with poisonous gas.

Zoey refuses to continue playing and instead destroys the room's surveillance cameras. A clip about a heart surgeon called "Dr. Wootan Yu" suggests that someone needs to record a certain heart rate to escape. Mike has the highest heart rate, but not high enough to work.Forgot your password? Don't have an account?

Five year old Jack's entire life consists of his Ma and whatever he has where they live, Room. Room is an approximate ten by ten by ten foot cubed structure, out of which he's never been.

Seven years ago, Ma - Joy Newsome, the daughter of Bob and Nancy Newsome - was abducted by "Old Nick", the man who is keeping them captive in Room, which is really a tool shed in his back yard, the shed's only door secured by a number coded keypad, the code which only Old Nick knows. They are dependent on Old Nick for their basic necessities, such as food, water, clothes and utilities. Whenever Old Nick does stay for extended visits in Room, Ma will not let Jack see him or visa versa, Jack who is supposed to hide "asleep" in the wardrobe.

Old Nick has no desire to see his biological offspring anyway. To shield him from anything that is happening to them, Ma has told Jack that the two of them and Old Nick are the only real things, and that what Jack reads about in books or sees on television are all not real. Jack believes that Old Nick gets their food by magic from television. The only exposure they have to natural light is a skylight at the top of Room, out of which they can only see sky.

Joy knows she can't kill Old Nick because they would still be locked in Room. Joy tried to escape only once before Jack was born, that attempt which failed and which resulted in her not having tried again She has made this decision to try to escape partly due to Jack's age where he can now understand things better, and an incident which showed Joy what were to happen if something truly did happen to Old Nick with them locked inside.

If they are able to escape, not only would Jack be required to adjust to a life and a world he may have no comprehension about, but Joy may find that the outside world is much more difficult to adjust to than she imagines, and not only because of the changes to outside in seven years. A mother, Joy, and her five-year old son, Jack, are held captive in a one-room shed. She was abducted by a stranger, Nick, and has been there for seven years.

Jack was born there and the room is his entire world. Then one day they escape and get to live normal lives. For Jack, the world he now is confronted by is a very foreign place. A mother and her 5 year old son, who have been held captive for 7 years, finally escape and gain freedom from their captor, but escape to a dramatic homecoming and have to deal with the pressures of the real world in this powerful and suspenseful Drama.

Five-year-old Jack's whole world is a confined, byfoot locked space crammed with pictures, toys, and books--the Room. Of course, his young mother is in the room too, taking care of her only son, and making sure nothing bad happens to him--especially when Old Nick pays them a visit, and Jack starts hearing creaking sounds. However, one day, Ma says that there is a place outside their chamber where houses, trees, people, and dogs are real; a marvellous realm where the air is fresh, and the wide sky is blue.

Could she be telling the truth?
